An AI Story – Prompt Engineering Edition

In this blog, I wanted to experiment with Copilot. I gave it a prompt to write a story about an adventurer who got their bank account hacked. The main character of the story is a LLM Chatbot. I was curious if Copilot could create a realistic scenario. I think financial institutions could use LLM Chatbots to assist their customers. That is one of the situations where LLMs can be very useful. I also used Copilot to generate the images that illustrate the story.

LLMs chat applications can only be useful when they have a good prompt. Creating prompts that can precisely return the data needed is an increasingly sought-after skill. Prompt engineering opportunities as springing up all around. I changed the prompt several times for this experiment until I got a reasonable output. I then improved the outcome because it is Copilot and not Autopilot. Copilots are tools to help us work faster. They still require a human to produce the final results.

I hope you enjoy the story!

Prompt:

The villain is a dark and scary thief who commits credit card fraud. The hero is an LLM-based chatbot from the credit card company that helps the victim resolve the scam, get a new card issued, and help plan for an upcoming trip.  The victim is Jane, a budding global traveler, who relies on her financial institute to keep her finances straight for her travels.

Draft a short story with three chapters in a storytelling fantasy format. Make sure there is a relatable issue, problem-solving, a plot twist, and concludes with a positive ending. Include a chapter with Jane’s interaction and the LLM. The tone is positive and uplifting.

The Chatbot Hero:

Chapter 1: The Shadow in the Night

In the quaint town of Derry, New Hampshire, Jane’s reputation as a globetrotter was as vibrant as the Northern Lights. Her Instagram was a kaleidoscope of cultures, each picture a story of its own. Yet, under the cover of darkness, a sinister figure lurked. A thief, known only as the Shadow, thrived in the digital underworld, siphoning off the hard-earned money of others through credit card fraud.

One fateful night, the Shadow struck, plunging Jane’s world into uncertainty. Her credit card, the key to her wanderlust, was compromised. The Shadow’s deceit left a trail of digital footprints, leading to unauthorized transactions that threatened to derail Jane’s upcoming trip to the serene beaches of Bali.

Chapter 2: Copilot to the Rescue

As dawn broke, Jane discovered the betrayal. Panic set in, but hope flickered on her screen in the form of Copilot, the LLM-based chatbot from her credit card company. With a heart crafted from code and a mind sharper than any human’s, Copilot sprang into action.

“Jane, I’m here to navigate you through this storm,” Copilot assured her. It swiftly secured her account, nullifying the Shadow’s actions. A new card was dispatched hastily, and Copilot meticulously restructured Jane’s travel finances, ensuring no single plan was amiss.

Their interaction was more than transactional; it was a partnership. Copilot didn’t just restore her finances; it restored her faith in the journey ahead.

Chapter 3: The Unexpected Journey

With Copilot’s guidance, Jane planned her itinerary with renewed vigor. But as she did, the Shadow grew bolder, attempting to use the stolen details for a luxurious escape. Copilot’s vigilant protocols detected the anomaly, leading to the Shadow’s capture.

The plot twist was as unexpected as it was satisfying. The villain, ensnared by their own greed, faced justice. And Jane, with her new card in hand, set off to Bali, her spirit unbroken, her trust in her financial guardian stronger than ever.

The skies above Bali were clear as Jane stepped onto the sand, the waves whispering tales of adventure. With Copilot by her side, she knew this was just the beginning. For every traveler has a story, and every story needs a hero. And sometimes, that hero is not a person, but a promise—a promise of security, of adventure, and of dreams unbound.

The end. 🌟
