I have 12 years experience with military leadership. Each leg along the way you attend leadership training. You also get to work with some of the best and worst leaders in the world. Hopefully grab the good traits and learn the consequences of the bad traits to make yourself a better leader. It is understandable that the stress levels of military leaders is a little higher than those in the civilian sector. So how do you adapt you leadership style to the civilian world?
I have recently started to think about what makes a good leader (manager) in the tech world. How do you motivate a technical team? How do you mentor people, who may not have the ‘soft’ skills needed to lead? I have found a blog and online user group dedicated to the cause of developing the ‘soft’ skills needed to succeed.
